Find Diesels core returns are for engines that do not meet current EPA standards. The U.S. government allows for the sale and distribution of engines that do not meet current EPA standards if engine “core” is returned or paid for. An engine’s “core” is the current faulty engine you are looking to replace. For this reason, Find Diesels has three different types of core returns with different criteria. These will be engines will be engines less than Tier 4. We pay freight for your core back to Find Diesels.

New engines –

• Core is good in any condition and like brands’s cores are valid for the return if it has similar horsepower.
• You will not be charged the core charge upon purchase with a credit card on file.
  • You have 60 days to return core with similar horsepower from a similar diesel brand. This means that after 60 days, if you do not confirm shipping a core back to Find Diesels under these criteria, your credit card will be charged the stated amount for the core charge.
  • If purchasing through cash or cashier’s check, you will be charged immediately for the core and will be refunded your deposit when we receive a valid diesel engine core with similar horsepower.

Remanufactured Engines –

• The only way you will pay the full core charge for remanufactured engines from Find Diesels is if you do not return a core and confirm shipment of that core within 60 days.
• The maximum you will pay for the core charge is 50% for cores returned not meeting  core return criteria. Engine core for full return must:
  • Be the same build configuration with all components fitted.
  • Be returned without prior disassembly.
  • Must bar over past 360 degrees without abnormal noise or resistance.
  • No holes, cracks, or defects to major casting components (block, crank, head).
  • Is properly attached to skid and drained of all fluids ($400.00 charge without skid; $50.00 charge if not drained).
• Turbo has damaged turbine wheel, torch marks, not like for like, tag missing, or disassembled engines will result in a $400.00 charge to card on file.
• Damaged or disassembled components will be charged at DLR net.
• Your card will only be charged for the core, depending on the above criteria, after 60 days. You have 60 days to return your core for reman without your card being charged.
